Lundstram Double Sees Alex Defeat Owls At U23 Level

Substitute Josh Lundstram came off the bench to score twice for Crewe Alexandra as they came from behind to beat Sheffield Wednesday in the Under-23 Professional Development League this afternoon.

Manager Alex Morris was named Dave Richards in goal as captain with a back 4 of Adbul Djalo, Travis Johnson, Christian Mbulu and Rio Adebisi in front of him. In central midfield were Luke Offord, James Jones and Joe Robbins while Owen Dale and Regan Griffiths played either side of Tyreece Onyeka up front. On the bench were goalkeeper Sam Booth, Lundstram, Aaron Lomas, Nathan Woodthorpe and Ethan Hartshorn.

Jordan O’Brien would open the scoring for Wednesday in the 4th minute as his shot found the top corner before the introduction of Lundstram changed the game. The equaliser came with 20 minutes to play as he finished from close range before the winner came 4 minutes from time as he turned in a Dale cross.

The next couple of games are at home to Leeds United at Reaseheath next Monday before a trip to Sheffield United the following Monday.
