Former loanee Chris Lumsdon is one man who was pleased with last weekend’s postponement as it now gives him a chance to get a win at Gresty Road. Lumsdon hasn’t been in a winning side at Gresty Road since completing his loan spell from Sunderland in December 2000.

Lumsdon enjoyed a successful loan spell in his three months here, with loud calls from fans to sign him permanently. However, Sunderland’s hefty price tag at the time put Dario off the deal, with £500k being asked for. He went on to sign for Barnsley a year later for £350,000 after a loan spell.

He has since been back with Barnsley, and his latest club Carlisle, twice and suffered two convincing defeats.

The midfielder was supposed to be suspended over the weekend, meaning he’d miss the match, but the postponement now means he will be available on Tuesday night as he serves his suspension this weekend.

Lumsdon told the The Cumberland news: “When Arni rang me last Saturady to tell me the Crewe game was off, I knew that meant I would miss the Forest game. So personally I was pleased that one was called off too because I didn`t get to play against them here last year and those are the games you want to play in.

“I`ve been ill for the last few days anyway so I`ve got time to get myself right and hopefully back for Crewe next Tuesday. I was on loan there when I was younger and every time I`ve been back, I`ve got beat – I really want to win at that ground!”
