Centre back Dennis Lawrence could sign a permanent deal at Crewe after being released by Swansea City today.

The Trinidad giant was out of contract at the Swans after three years with the club. He arrived at Gresty Road last year under Steve Holland and despite a shaky start went on to become one of our better players in a disappointing season.

It’s fully expected that Gudjon will now offer Lawrence a permanent deal with the club, but Lawrence isn’t ready to commit just yet as he told The Sentinel:

‘I will go away and talk about it and you never know. I’ve fully enjoyed my time here. I will keep in contact and I will be speaking to my advisers. – it is all about me making the right decision.

‘Crewe have been fantastic with me and it is an option.’
