This afternoon, the EFL have confirmed two of the three teams that will be in our EFL Trophy group for the 20/21 season. We will play against fellow League 1 club Shrewsbury Town (who have former Alex striker Daniel Udoh in their squad) and League 2 club Bolton Wanderers, who have recently signed Antoni Sarcevic for their squad for the forthcoming season. We will find out who the 4th team in the group are tomorrow afternoon at 1.30 pm with a B team from Aston Villa, Leeds United, Leicester City, Liverpool, both Manchester clubs, Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Also being drawn tomorrow, this time at 10 am, we’ll find out who we will be playing in the first round of the Carabao Cup. We will be ball number 10 in the Northern section as the draw is unseeded.
League fixtures will be released at 9 am on Friday morning while our next friendly will take place tomorrow night, as announced in the Walsall pre-season match report on the official site.
