Crewe Alexandra were cruelly denied victory after Mark Ellis conceded an injury-time own-goal in their 1-1 draw at Walsall.
Top scorer Chuks Aneke had earlier given the visitors the lead early in the second-half with his fifteenth goal of the season.
Both sides struggled to create much early on as the action proved decidedly scrappy and opportunities seriously restricted.
On loan Middlesbrough winger Cameron Park had a shot blocked for the visitors while Walsall skipper Andy Butler went much closer with a header.
Febian Brandy continued to be a lively presence for the Midlands outfit, although it was Aneke firing at home goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell just before the break.
Craig Westcarr knocked an effort over following the restart, but it was the in-form Aneke soon slotting the visitors in front from a low Matt Tootle cross.
Walsall responded by forcing a number of corners and towering substitute Michael Agoo found an upright before fellow replacement James McQuilkin also went close.
Disaster then struck for the visitors in added time when Ellis headed a cross into his own net, and it could have been even worse as substitute Milan Lalkovic in turn hit the crossbar.
