King Kenny Coming Home?

Another twist as Neil Baker says that they may look at re-signing Sheffield Wednesday’s Kenny Lunt after all.

Holland and Baker had previously rejected the claims that the Alex would bring back the little magician, who is available for loan, but an injury to Steven Schumacher leaves a spot in the midfield free.

Baker told the Sentinel: ‘Kenny is something we might discuss again.

‘Steven’s only just suffered the injury so we’ve got to discuss our options. Whether Schumacher’s injury makes a difference, we will have to decide.’

Last time out in this division, Lunt managed 20 assists – 5 more than the next man in the Football League. He left under a cloud as some Alex fans decided (as they did with Dean Ashton, Michael Higdon and now Ben Rix) that he wasn’t good enough (but Justin Cochrane was because he ran around like a headless chicken). However, time away from Gresty Road has helped fans re-find their love for the former captain, and a recent Vital Crewe poll showed that over 60% want Kenny back.
