King Kenny Comes Home

Kenny Lunt has returned to Crewe on a one month loan, nearly two years after leaving for Sheffield Wednesday. The creative midfielder played 400 times for the Alex before leaving on a free transfer for Sheffield Wednesday in summer 2006. Having recently found games hard to come by at Hillsborough though Kenny’s return to Crewe has been a matter of time.

The 27 year old made just 33 starts for Wednesday and never scored. His last appearance for Sheff Wed came at the end of January when he was a second half substitute in the FA Cup replay against Derby County. He went on to miss a penalty in the shoot-out.

Last time out for the Alex in this division Kenny made a significant contribution with over 20 assists over the course of a season, a feat not yet matched at this level in the past 6 years.

Kenny could be just the start of a ex-Alex reunion, with former winger Steve Jones set for a loan move once he regains fitness at Burnley.
