Teenage Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper Ben Garratt has signed a new contract with the League One club.

“He is an England goalkeeper and we are excited about him” – Steve Davis

The nineteen-year-old’s current deal was due to expire at the end of the season but has now been extended until at least the summer of 2015.

England Under-17 international Garratt is still to make his first-team debut and was set to line-up for the Alex in their Cheshire Senior Cup tie with Northwich Victoria later this evening.

“It is a good move him and the club. He is an England goalkeeper and we are excited about him,” manager Steve Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We see him as somebody who will start to push for a place. He is improving all the time and he fully deserves his contract.”
