Crewe Alexandra have in-form Stevenage as their opponents this weekend and goalkeeper Alan Martin will be aiming for a third successive clean sheet.

“It is giving us confidence that we can compete with good sides” – Alan Martin

That follows four points out of a possible six for the Alex during consecutive home games against Coventry City and Tranmere Rovers at Gresty Road.

“I am delighted the last two opponents we have had have been very tough so to get cleans sheets was very satisfying,” Martin told Crewe’s official website. “It is giving us confidence that we can compete with good sides and established clubs like Coventry.”

The Scot has featured in all seven games so far this season as regular first-choice Steve Phillips continues his recovery from recent knee surgery.
