Crewe Alexandra appear likely to keep faith with young goalkeeper Ben Garratt against Shrewsbury Town this weekend.

“I thought that he responded well in the game after conceding the penalty” – Steve Davis

The teenager conceded a penalty after bringing down Callum Wilson in the latest 2-2 draw with Coventry City but manager Steve Davis was still pleased at the way he recovered from the setback.

“Ben has rushed from his line and caught Wilson,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “He has to learn from that and learn from it quickly. He conceded a similar penalty against Wycombe in the FA Cup and that is the harsh reality of football.

“All the young players go through it and I thought that he responded well in the game after conceding the penalty,” he added.
