Crewe Alexandra’s experienced goalkeeper Scott Shearer has joined League Two promotion hopefuls Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season.

Shearer, 33, only arrived at Gresty Road in the summer on a two-year deal from Rotherham United.

Manager Steve Davis must now seek an alternative with the highly-promising Garratt his only remaining recognised senior goalkeeper.
