Rodney Jack has moved to Southport in search of a new club this summer. The 34 year old had a trial at Bury last week but failed to win a contract and has is trying to prove himself at Southport.

Jack, who was released from Gresty Road in May, played in a 1-0 win over Tranmere for the seaside club. Rodders impressed as a trademark run set up the only goal of the game.

Meanwhile, former Alex loanee ‘keeper Ross Turnbull has signed a season long loan deal with Cardiff. The Middlesbrough ‘keeper spent much of the 05/06 season as first choice at Gresty Road.
