Brighton defenders say that their 2-1 defeat on Saturday was ‘easy’ for them. Brighton defender Joel Lynch told the local Brighton paper that, once Nicky Maynard went off, there ‘wasn’t too much to deal with’.
Brighton lost the game after conceding a late Gary Roberts header, after sublime build up play from Crewe. However, the South Coast club refuse to take it lightly.
Lynch told The Argus that ‘there wasn’t really too much to deal with’ after ‘quite a young kid’ (Shaun Miller, a month older than Lynch) lead the line for the final hour of the game. Adding that Lynch’s team mate Guy Butters claimed that they had ‘coasted through the game’.
Whilst this may be further back up to our need for a big striker up front (John Hartson?), some Crewe fans would suggest that Lynch should maybe keep these comments for after games Brighton win.

Striker Tuesday?
Those comments though were in the same article when he talks about marking Robbie Fowler. He’s not an outspoken sort of chap so he probably didn’t mean to offend and he was only talking about how our central defenders felt the game went AFTER Maynard went off injured.
