Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis told how his players were hurting following their weekend loss to Stevenage.

“We’ve got a never-say-die attitude at the club and we will work hard” – Steve Davis

The Alex actually led by a single-goal at the interval courtesy of on loan Arsenal teenager Chuks Aneke but their visitors responded twice early in the second-half to finally claim maximum points.

“The players are all down and very quiet, which is brilliant to see,” Davis later told This is Stadffordshire. “They expect to play games and win now, which is a great change of attitude over a short period of time.

“I was more than happy with the performance. It was good enough to win the game,” he maintained. “We’ve got a never-say-die attitude at the club and we will work hard and I have confidence we will put it right. There’s more to come from this team.”
