Holland Oblivious To Disappointment

Steve Holland’s post match reaction to Saturday’s shambles has been more about Leeds than his own team.

Having been thrashed 5-2 at Elland Road in a pretty gutless display, for most managers it would have been time to read the riot act. Not here however. Holland was more concerned about glossing over it with a ‘Leeds are too good’ approach.

Speaking to thisisstaffordshire.co.uk, Holland said: ‘We were outplayed all over the pitch today and each of the players had their hands full coping with his opponent, particularly in midfield,’ said Holland.

‘We did all right for the first 20 minutes, but once you go behind at a place like this, then they have the people to play around you.

‘It was difficult for Calvin Zola and Anthony Elding up front as they were starved of possession for long periods.’

At which point you need to question Holland as to when exactly he becomes manager of this football club. If your midfield is struggling to cope and your front two are starved of possession, isn’t it your job to sort it out?
