Steve Holland showed his disappointment despite beating Stockport County 3-1 this afternoon. Goals from Gary Roberts (penalty), Shaun Miller and Nicky Maynard gave Crewe a rather fortunate win in the final pre-season game for Crewe.

Stockport battled all the way but failed to break down our new look defence, only a dubious penalty gave Stockport their equaliser.

First team coach Steve Holland told CreweAlex.net that he didn’t think it was a penalty for Stockport and that he’s not pleased with today’s performance.

‘It was nice to win but I’m not going to pretend I’m happy with the performance.

‘We conceded a penalty. I watched it again on the DVD at half-time and it wasn’t a penalty, Chris (McCready) was unlucky there.

‘To be fair to Stockport they had the better of the possession in the second half and were in our half a lot more than we were in theirs, but they didn’t create a bucket load of chances so we can be pleased with that.’

Holland now faces the task of preparing the team for the first league game of the season next Saturday when Brighton are the visitors to Gresty Road.
