Trialist Chris Hogg has left the club after just two days and 60 minutes of football.

The former Hibs captain played at centre back for last night’s 2-1 win over Derby but was replaced by youngster George Ray after just 64 minutes.

The release is a little surprising. There may have been a slight question mark over his match fitness/sharpness but a player of Hogg’s calibre and experience you’d expect would be worth an extended look at.

So the search for a new centre back continues. Whether Dario will now return to either Tom Parkes or Jordan Rose, who Dario said the club would keep in mind following their trials, remains to be seen. Rose certainly seems to be the fans’ choice from the list of trialists so far this pre-season.
