Crewe Alexandra have re-signed top midfield prospect Chuks Aneke on loan from Arsenal for the rest of the season.

The nineteen-year-old recently returned to Highbury upon completion of a three-month loan stint with the Alex, during which time he scored six times in 22 games.

In his last appearance before returning south former England youth international Aneke left the bench to good effect when creating one goal and scoring another in a 4-1 win against Bradford City in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Area semi-final.

That was sufficient to currently leave him as joint-second leading marksman at Gresty Road alongside skipper Luke Murphy – five behind eleven-goal Mathias Pogba.

Crewe earlier extended on loan Brad Inman’s current arrangement from Newcastle United until the end of the season.
