Crewe Alexandra could be boosted by the return of central defender Harry Davis at the weekend.

“It could be that we introduce him back into the squad this weekend” – Steve Davis

The 23-year-old has been sidelined by a knee injury for the past six months but successfully negotiated his third reserve game earlier this week.

“H [Harry] came through his third game and managed the 90 minutes,” manager Steve Davis confirmed to Crewe’s official website. “He has told me he felt okay and that is a bonus for us.

“I would think he is close to declaring him available again and he will assess him this week,” he continued. “It could be that we introduce him back into the squad this weekend, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

The Railwaymen travel to Walsall on Saturday boosted by their recent win against Coventry City.
