Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis hailed the determination of his side following their second league win of the season.

“I’d forgotten what it feels like to win a game to be honest!” – Steve Davis

On loan Febian Brandy and teenage prospect George Cooper both found the target during the first-half of the much-needed 2-1 triumph over Coventry City
at Gresty Road.

“I’d forgotten what it feels like to win a game to be honest! I thought we fully deserved it,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We approached the game with a really good tempo early on and caught them out a bit.

“They showed amazing fight and spirit, defended when they had to, cleared one off the line – which you have to do to win games,” he added. “Everybody has worked very, very hard at Reaseheath this week to get a result like that today, so I’m pleased that work has paid off.”
