Gudjon Thordarson confirmed tonight that he’d like Julien Baudet to remain at the club over the summer.

The Iceman admitted that reports of an offer to Baudet from American side Colorado Rapids were true, saying it was a good offer. However, Thordarson insisted that he wants the Frenchman to stay at Gresty Road.

Baudet’s contract is set to expire in the summer but Gudjon revealed that he will sit down with his captain in the coming weeks to convince him to remain at the club, but admits he needs to speak to the board about any new contract first.

It comes as no surprise that Thordarson is looking to keep Baudet at the club having made him captain during their time at Notts County. Whether it’s something fans will agree with is another matter. Personally I’m not sure we should be pushing the boat out to keep him.
