Gudjon May Look Elsewhere For Keeper

Gudjon Thordarson says that the goalkeeping position hasn’t yet been claimed, adding he may even look at bringing in another loan keeper.

Gudjon currently has Steve Collis and rookie Adam Legzdins in his ranks, but he’s clearly no fan of Collis’s whilst Legzdins has very little experience to take into a league season.

Last season Gudjon snubbed both Collis and Legzdins, as well as Stuart Tomlinson, to bring in John Ruddy from Everton. The highly rated Ruddy soon impressed, kick starting Gudjon’s February Manager of the Month award run of form.

Whilst Ruddy’s already made it clear he has no intention of playing League Two football next season, the possibility of a loan keeper is still there as Gudjon explained to CreweAlex.net.

One possible name in the frame is Birmingham City’s Colin Doyle. The 6ft 5in keeper has spent loan spells at Millwall, Forest and Chesterfield in the past but with experience at both Championship and Premiership level with the Brummies Gudjon could see Doyle as the perfect season-long loan.
