Newest recruit Joel Grant says he’s delighted with his £130,000 move to Crewe Alexandra today.

The 20 year old former Watford trainee signed earlier today from Aldershot for the biggest fee the club have paid for a player in four years.

The fast right winger says he now hopes to do his best for the club having signed a three year contract.

Grant told CreweAlex.net: ‘I like the way that Crewe works and how they bring on players and it all feels really homely here. I’m delighted about the move and I hope to do my best here.

‘I’ve played here before so I know all about the supporters. I don’t know the ins and outs of the club but I do know that it’s a good gamble for me.

‘I know a few people who used to play here, a few of my team-mates at Aldershot used to play at Crewe, so hopefully it will be the same.’

Grant is the Alex’s second summer signing after Adam Legzdins completed a move a few weeks ago. However, more new faces look to be on the cards as Holland hopes to tie up deals with Robert Snodgrass, Steve Collis and Calvin Zola before the end of the week.
