Goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen has made his first international appearances for Finland at Under-21 level this week as they played their opening two fixtures as they look to qualify for the 2021 European Championships that will be held in Hungary and Slovenia.

Jaaskelainen, 21, had made appearances for their Under-19 team a couple of seasons ago but made his first appearance at this level on Friday night in their 2-0 victory in Ukraine (even getting booked in the process) and even had a montage made of his saves during the game made by the official Finnish FA Twitter account before they drew 1-1 at home to Northern Ireland that has finished within the last hour.

Finland’s Under-21 side have two games next month against Malta (10th) and Denmark (14th), both at home, which would clash with the second EFL Trophy group game at Mansfield Town as well as the league game at Carlisle United if he is selected for that squad.
