Crewe were held to a 0-0 bore draw at home to ten man Swindon this afternoon. In a really drab game it Byron Moore who went closest with a 30 yard drive, which was tipped over by the Swindon keeper Brezovan.

Swindon were reduced to 10 men with 15 minutes left. Former Vale striker Billy Paynter was said to have elbowed Michael O’Connor, and the referee gave a straight red card.

Despite the advantage, Crewe couldn’t find a way through in the final quarter of the game and were left still dangling dangerously above the relegation zone.

More reaction on the game to come from Vital Crewe.
