Crewe have taken 24 year old Striker Yannick Salem on trial. He will feature in the reserve friendly at Liverpool today.

The player was recommended by Chief Scout Glyn Chamberlain and is also attracting interest from Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

The French striker had a trial at League One rivals Nottingham Forest earlier this summer but the Crewe management team have given him an opportunity to shine in today’s friendly.

Crewe would be able to sign the player as he is a free agent, Neil Baker (pictured) told the Evening Sentinel ‘Then we thought we might be able to take him on loan, but we can’t as he is an overseas player. In the meantime, his Dutch club have come to an arrangement with him and cancelled his contract.’
