Young gun Brendan Daniels is pressing hard for inclusion for Crewe Alexandra on the eve of the new season.

“Brendan has done well in pre-season and looks as though he is ready to make that step up” – Steve Davis

Manager Steve Davis has been impressed with the versatility of the winger who is able to operate on either side of the pitch.

And with recent signing from Ebbsfleet United, Michael West, currently being troubled by a heel injury, the teenager is quickly emerging as a real alternative.

“Brendan has done well in pre-season and looks as though he is ready to make that step up to that level now,” Davis told Crewe’s official website.

“He can play on the right or the left and is going to be a useful asset to the squad,” he added. “He can go past people on the outside on the right hand side but is also prepared to cut in from the left.”
