Former loan striker Nicky Ajose snatched an injury-time winner after Crewe Alexandra had led 3-1 at Swindon Town.

Ajose began the scoring when converting Brad Barry’s delivery but the visitors then struck three times without reply.

First Brad Inman equalised within six minutes and Ryan Colclough’s superb low effort had them in front before Inman tapped in his second goal of the contest.

But Jon Obika headed in a cross from Fabien Robert shortly after the break and Ben Nugent conceded an own-goal, ahead of the dramatic finale in which Ajose finished from close-range.

Swindon took an early lead with Ajose steering in Barry’s cross but it didn’t last long as Jordan Turnbull’s weak defensive header allowed Inman to slot past Lawrence Vigouroux.

Six minutes later Anton Rodgers surrendered possession and Colclough burst forward to impressively claim his eighth goal of the campaign.

Crewe increased that advantage five minutes before the interval when Turnbull’s slip witnessed Marcus Haber charging forward and supplying Inman to slot in.

However, Obika nodded in an assist from Robert a couple of minutes into the second-half, and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill’s cross was then diverted by Nugent past his own goalkeeper.

But worse was to follow for the Railwaymen in added time when Ben Garratt couldn’t hold Yaser Kasim’s shot and Ajose immediately snapped up the rebound.
