Mansfield Town have completed the signing of former Crewe Alexandra loanee Nicky Ajose until the end of the season from Charlton Athletic yesterday afternoon.
Ajose, 27, spent time on loan with the Alex under Steve Davis during the second half of the 2014/15 season and forged a good strike partnership with Uche Ikpeazu as the Alex had loaned him in from Leeds United. He started his career at Manchester United before being given an opportunity to start games at hometown club Bury and then Peterborough United.
He could face the Alex in our trip to Field Mill on 23rd March.
What are Mansfield getting with the signing of Ajose?
He’s a small striker who averages roughly a goal every 3 games during his career who plays well alongside a bigger forward. His best goal return was the season after he was at the Alex where he got 25 goals in 40 appearances in his first spell at Swindon but has struggled to play regularly over the past couple of years.
