Former Crewe Alexandra starlet Nick Powell has been included in Manchester United’s travelling 22-man squad for their visit to South Africa and China.

It means he will already be rubbing shoulders with the likes of ex-England duo Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes.

That follows the eighteen-year-old completing a dream move to Old Trafford last month in a deal that could eventually net Alex up to £6m.

Powell scored sixteen goals for Crewe last season and signed off with a brilliant strike during their play-off final win over Cheltenham Town at Wembley in May.
