Crewe Alexandra have confirmed that Congolese forward Offrande Zanzala, who was at League 1 side Accrington Stanley, has become the first signing of the Summer 2020 Transfer window. He has signed an initial 12-month deal with the option of a second year.
Zanzala, 23, started his career with Derby County and spent time on loan with Stevenage, Chester and Accrington, making that move permanent in the summer of 2018. So far in this career, he has 15 goals in 72 appearances in all competitions.
What type of player is Zanzala?
He’s a central striker who looks a little raw from the highlights that I have seen but has a little bit of experience of playing in this league already. That said, he’ll probably be a back-up to a new central striker once one arrives but we’ll see in the coming months.
From the little that I’ve seen on Twitter this evening, he’s better as a striker in a pair but maybe he’ll play in one of the wide positions for us as well as playing centrally.
