Owen Fon Williams has now secured his place as back up to Ben Williams after leap frogging Stuart Tomlinson following his injury woes at the end of last season. It is now likely that after falling down the pecking order Stuart will go out on a season long loan as reported by Crewe Vital last month.

Meanwhile, Fon Williams will look to challenge Ben Williams for the number 1 spot in the forthcoming season. He joined the club in 2003 after a successful trial spell and impressed sufficiently, since then he has progressed through the academy set up and has now made the step up to the first team squad.

Last season he was named on the bench on several occasions but has yet to make his first team debut for the club. He has represented Wales at Under 21 level and he told www.crewealex.net “I just can’t wait for next season to get started now, or the pre-season I can’t wait for that either to be honest.

I’m going to use this opportunity to prove what I’m made of, as soon as I get out on the training pitch I’ll be ready to show Dario and Steve what I can do.’
