Reports suggest that Forest Green Rovers have accepted the latest offer from Crewe Alexandra for Stuart Fleetwood. Steve Holland is now able to move onto the next stage and discuss personal terms with the player.

The deal is thought to be worth an initial £200,000 with appearance fees, bonuses and sell on clauses boosting it to over £250,000.

It is thought that the revised bid was accepted earlier today when Forest Green informed the management at Gresty Road.

The Alex made the initial offer on Monday last week but Forest Green failed to reply till yesterday, and the new offer comes from yesterday’s negotiations.

Steve Holland, Dario Gradi and Neil Baker will all be hoping to conclude the deal before anyone else nips in, with reported interest from Gillingham, Charlton and QPR.

Should Fleetwood sign it will certainly signal some intent from the management inside Gresty towers. The 21 year old already has 26 goals in 27 games this season, and many fans will be hoping to see at least half of that form transferred into League One.
