Crewe Alexandra’s first win of the season means the club can now focus on building upon it in a more relaxed fashion.

“What you don’t want is for it to go on and on and for the players and supporters to become anxious” – Steve Davis

Teenager Ryan Colclough scored twice as the Railwaymen accounted for ten-man Tranmere Rovers 2-1 at Gresty Road. Next up they face a trip to early League One pacesetters Leyton Orient at the weekend.

“It is always nice to get that first win of the season and get those three points,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “What you don’t want is for it to go on and on and for the players and supporters to become anxious.

“Now we have to build on that and take it into the next game against another tough opponent,” he continued. “I am glad the short wait is over and that first win in the league has happened for us.”
