Fans are split over whether Steve Holland is the right man for the job according to a Vital Crewe poll.
We asked if Holland was still the right man to lead the Alex and after a week of voting it seems like it’s one issue fans cannot agree on.
It was a clean 60/40 split, but it wasn’t in Holland’s favour. 60% of voters believe Holland isn’t right for the job whilst 40% still have faith in him.
The first team coach certainly still has a lot to prove in the coming season. Having had a torrid first 12 months managing first team issues, in which Holland guided the Alex to our worst league season in well over a decade, everything seems to rest on the 08/09 season.
Summer strengthening will be vital and despite numerous knock backs the signing of Joel Grant from Aldershot yesterday may well have opened the flood gates with goalkeeper Steve Collis, winger Robert Snodgrass and striker Calvin Zola all within the club’s grasp.
Anything below mid-table in the coming season will almost certainly put Holland under considerable pressure but at the moment fans can only hope it never comes to that.
There is now a new poll on the site, which you can find down the right hand column, asking your opinion on the signing of Joel Grant from Aldershot.

He had big foots to follow after the many years of Dario Gradi at the helm.
