Michael Raynes Signs Permanent Deal With Hartlepool United

|

Hartlepool United have completed the signing of former Crewe Alexandra central defender Michael Raynes on a permanent deal following a loan spell at the Monkey Hangers that saw him with the club since January where he joins the team managed by former Alex forward Craig Hignett, who was appointed as manager back in January.

Raynes, 31, joins the National League club following the Alex releasing him with his contract expiring this summer, having spent the last 2 seasons with the Railwaymen (making 40 appearances in all competitions) following his arrival from Carlisle United in the summer of 2017.

What does this mean for Hartlepool?

As I said in the article when he moved to Hartlepool back in January, he’s a player that is a leader for the squad but has his limitations (mostly his pace as he positions himself fairly well). It’ll be interesting to see how he performs after sustaining an Achilles injury after 3 appearances for Pool but hopefully, he’ll do well for the club.
