Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is really delighted to see his strikers already off the mark during pre-season.

Alex’s forwards have all found the net in the early games with AJ Leitch-Smith the most recent late on in the weekend victory at Nantwich Town.

“It’s always good for the strikers to be amongst the goals in pre-season and everyone is off the mark now,” Davis told Alex’s official website. “Pogba and Max [Clayton] have scored three, so has Byron [Moore] and the likes of Shaun [Miller] and AJ have both scored as well.

“The longer you go without a goal as a striker, the more worried or concerned they become,” he added. “So to have them all off the mark has been a bonus.”

Alex are once again in action tonight at Bashley (kick-off 7.45pm) after their original game with Eastleigh had to be postponed. On Thursday evening they turn their attentions towards Pewsey Vale.
