Manager Steve Davis says Crewe Alexandra duo Anthony Grant and Brad Inman have both shown the right response since being left out of the side.

“The players aren’t stupid, they can see who is working hard and who isn’t” – Steve Davis

Davis reports a significant improvement in application following earlier claims of a lack of effort and suspect attitude from
the pair.

“They have started to show the type of attitude I expected in July, a massive improvement,” he told the Crewe Chronicle. “But now they have to gain acceptance from the players. The players aren’t stupid, they can see who is working hard and who isn’t.

“Brad came in to speak to me and I told him how professionalism, effort and work are going to be really important to him – he has the talent,” he added. “These blips happen in careers and he is still only young. I am certainly not going to wash my hands of him because of this.”
