Both Matt Tootle and Ryan Colclough should be back training with Crewe Alexandra later this week.

“They are keen to give it a go” – Steve Davis

Full-back Tootle underwent a recent scan on his troublesome foot while midfielder Colclough experienced a slight tightening of his hamstring.

The duo are still considered doubtful for involvement in this weekend’s big derby against Port Vale.

“Both Toots and Ryan are hoping to train this week. They are keen to give it a go possibly Wednesday, Thursday,” manager Steve Davis confirmed to Crewe’s official website. “Toots’ foot is getting better and he has a chance of making the weekend. We’ll have to see how he goes this week. Ryan felt his hamstring tighten when he came back into training. He tweaked it a bit and we took him out.”
