Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis hasn’t yet fully closed the door on out-of-favour striker Shaun Miller.

The 24-year-old’s details were recently circulated to other clubs after losing his starting place and being left out of the squad for the Wembley play-off triumph against Cheltenham Town.

However, Alex have since only received a single enquiry of a possible player-exchange – but Miller didn’t want to revert back to League Two.

“I have not shut the door on Shaun and we are not trying to offload him,” Davis told Alex’s official website. “I would be more than happy if he came back in pre-season and said he was eager to play his part and challenge for a place.

“We know what he is about and what he can do,” he added. “It is just a question of him trying to recapture that.”

Miller netted six times in his opening nine games last season but then failed to find the net beyond September.
