Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis wasn’t ruling out making a move into the loan market ahead of the 28th March deadline.

“There is still a bit of time for us to do something and I am not totally ruling it out” – Steve Davis

That follows successive league defeats to lowly Hartlepool United and Portsmouth leaving the Railwaymen now effectively fourteen points short of a play-off spot.

“I haven’t ruled out bringing some in on loan before the deadline,” Davis admitted to Crewe’s official website. “A lot can happen and we have a lot of games over the last two months of the season.

“We might need to bring one or two in to help with the competition and cover in case we have some injuries,” he continued. “There is still a bit of time for us to do something and I am not totally ruling it out.”

The Alex aren’t in action until the weekend when visiting another of the relegation-threatened clubs, Colchester United.
