Dario has revealed that he has spoken to the club’s Player of the Year Clayton Donaldson and made him, what he calls, ‘an attractive offer’.

Long expected to leave upon the expiration of his contract, Dario now believes that there is a chance of keeping the 28 goal scorer beyond this summer after the club’s board of directors cobbled together a new offer for Donaldson.

Speaking to the club’s Official Website Dario said that he never thought he’d be able to offer Donaldson a new deal but there may just be ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ after talks.

I never thought we would have been able to offer Clayton a contract near what he is on now – but the directors have come up with an initiative which means we might be able to make him an attractive offer.

‘There might be light at the end of the tunnel.’

Dario meanwhile admitted he will look to help Donaldson claim the League Two Golden Boot tomorrow afternoon with a possible new formation.

Donaldson goes head to head tomorrow against former Alex striker Ryan Lowe, with both men on 27 league goals for the season.
