Crewe have decided not to extend Chris Dickson loan spell with the club. The Charlton striker joined on a month loan with an option to extend the deal.

He has been used sporadically in his spell with us and hasn’t done enough to warrant an extension to his loan spell. He started in the matches against Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient and came on as a 2nd half sub at Swindon last Saturday.

First team Coach Steve Holland told the official site Steve said “He is a talented player and we fought off a lot of competition to get him here and hopefully he has seen some benefit in coming here on a month’s loan but with Ryan and Lee showing signs of forming a good partnership and Byron coming back from injury, then we are a lot more optimistic now than we were a few weeks ago”

The player will now return to Charlton. All at Crewe Vital wish Chris Dickson well for the future.

Wouldn’t mind him as an ‘impact player’, coming off the bench to play 20 minutes. Charlton probably didn’t want that though, but no great loss. Definitely not up to the required standard yet and they can probably find him another decent club – maybe even in this division.
