Crewe Alexandra centre-back Adam Dugdale will be available for this evening’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Area final second-leg against Coventry City despite carrying several knocks.

“I like the battle and keeping clean sheets. I get my kicks out of taking one in the face” – Adam Dugdale

He also recently collected a black-eye and dead-leg at Notts County but says he is perfectly happy to play through the discomfort if it means securing another Wembley date for his club.

“I’ve been getting battered lately to be honest. I’ve had a black-eye, a dead-leg, I’ve hurt my foot, I’ve got scrapes everywhere,” Dugdale told the Crewe Chronicle.”But it is part of the game and I will be trying to get out there.

“I like the battle and keeping clean sheets. I get my kicks out of taking one in the face,” he continued. “I can’t wait to see what they are going to throw at us. These are the games the players look forward to. It should be a good night.”
