Dugdale received compassionate leave from the Alex following the tragic loss of his newly-born son just ahead of their Wembley Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final triumph in April. He was later recalled to their squad and made the bench for the final-day meeting with Walsall.
Prior to that the 25-year-old Liverpool-born centre-back completed 24 appearances for the club on their return to the third tier of the professional game.
“Adam is back and working hard in the sessions,” manager Steve Davis told Crewe’s official website. “He knows he has some catching up to do and his body has been a bit stiff after the sessions but he has always been a good professional and he will get there.”
