Billy Makes First Appearance For Wales’ Under-21s

|

Crewe Alexandra defender Billy Sass-Davies made his first appearance for Wales at Under-21 level in a 2-1 home defeat against the Republic of Ireland in Wrexham yesterday afternoon, his first cap for the Welsh at any level since 2018 where he won the last of his 4 caps at Under-19 level.

Sass-Davies, who is currently out on loan at National League side Yeovil Town (where he has made 11 appearances and scored once) with another couple of weeks left on that spell as things stand. He is also out of contract in the summer but I’d imagine that he’ll sign a new deal and spend some of next season out on loan again – whether it’s for half a season or for the full season.

He is the first Alex player to play for the Welsh Under-21s since Callum Saunders back in November 2015 and is the latest of 14 players who have played for the club and Wales U21s in their career.
