Crewe Alexandra have announced that right-back Travis Johnson has joined Northern Premier League club Witton Albion on loan until April 25th. Up until this point, the games in non-league football have not been postponed due to the Coronavirus.
Johnson, 19, has made 3 appearances for the first team this season but has been a regular for Alex Morris’ Under-23s, both as a right-back and covering at centre-back.
He becomes the latest Alex player to join Albion after successful loan spells for the likes of Shaun Miller and Nicky Maynard and more recently both Owen Dale and Luke Offord.
What can Witton expect from the signing of Johnson?
Travis is a rapid right-back who is more of an attacking full-back and it might be the case that this spell is focused on helping out with the defensive side of his game. I would imagine that he will be playing at full-back during the spell.
