O’Riordan Heads On Loan To Raith

|

Crewe Alexandra have announced that defender Connor O’Riordan has joined Scottish Championship club Raith Rovers on loan until January, he joins in time to be available to play in their home game against Dundee tomorrow afternoon.

O’Riordan, 18, has come through the Alex’s academy set-up, spending time on loan at Kidsgrove Athletic and Nantwich Town before making his Alex debut last December in the EFL Trophy win against Doncaster Rovers, the first of his 13 appearances for the first team made during his scholarship period.

He was also called up for and played for the Republic of Ireland Under-20s side in their 1-0 defeat to Ireland Amateurs in March.

What are Raith getting from this signing?

Connor is a 6-foot 4-inch central defender who, despite his inexperience and height, is fairly comfortable bringing the ball out of defence but can also play as a more battling player in the air against a target-man forward.
