Crewe Alexandra full-back Matt Tootle is undergoing a foot scan to decide the full extent of his injury.

“He is still feeling pain in the base of his foot so we have sent him for a scan today” – Steve Davis

The 23-year-old missed the recent scoreless draw with Bradford City due to picking up the problem during training.

Tootle is unlikely to make the squad for this weekend’s visit to London and the game with Brentford.

“He is still feeling pain in the base of his foot so we have sent him for a scan today to assess the extent of the damage,” manager Steve Davis confirmed to Crewe’s official website. “We thought that pain would have gone by now but it hasn’t and we want to make sure he is right.”
