Crewe Alexandra left-back Gregor Robertson is back in regular training and closing in on a return to duty.

The former Chesterfield defender was sidelined for the run-in last season after damaging his Achilles against Crawley Town in March.

That found him suffering the heartbreak of missing a second straight Wembley final in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

The Railwaymen are similarly hopeful that strikers AJ Leitch-Smith (groin) and Vadaine Oliver (ankle) will be involved in their forthcoming games.
